Founder Chris Best spent 30 years in the Automotive Industry where he rose to the highest levels. A recognised technical expert and effective project director, he launched many new products including one of the earliest "drive by wire" digital electronic control systems. A renowned problem solver, he developed procedures manuals from the ground up and was a leading figure in the application of Quality Techniques in industrial situations.
Chris views engineering as part art and part science brought together for the purpose of making a profit. There is always more than one solution path available and we characterise them into precisely approximate and approximately precise. Detailed and precise analysis of situations is only justified where input data accuracy and the potential rewards will support the costs. We look to employ approximate precision to gain maximum benefit cost effectively (in true Pareto style).
Most at home in Industrial settings, particularly precision engineering and volume manufacturing, we have however acquired a range of expertise and contacts which enables us to work across a much wider spectrum.
